Born in small town West Virginia, John Hale grew up as an avid movie fan. Throughout his childhood, he watched retro horror movies like King Kong, Godzilla, and Beast from 20,000 Fathoms with his father throughout his childhood. However, it was Jaws that shifted John from watching movies to making movies. His earliest projects included stop motion monster battles with his action figures.

Later John would produce short skits and films during his college years, teaching himself the editing and VFX tools necessary to create his own content and stories. Since college, John has focused his work in television, working for the past 10 years for different local affiliates. In 2018, he won an Emmy Award for his visual graphics work on the children’s television show Abracadabra.

It has always been John’s goal to return to the medium that gave him the same sense of awe and wonder that he felt when he saw Jaws at a young age.
